Zakaria is a second-generation boy, born and raised in Rome by parents of Moroccan origin. Nothing is known about his father, and he lives with his single mother and two younger sisters. Despite having a strong intuition at school, Zakaria never applies himself and risks of being expelled because of his rebellious behaviour.

Denali is a strong-willed and opinionated girl of Indian origin who is trying to find balance and her place in the world. She works, studies, helps her father in the shop, always tries to behave like a good girl, but deep inside she knows that there are many unsolved conflicts that sooner or later she will have to deal with.
